Justice Minister of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the Judicial-Legal Council Fikret Mammadov on 13 June met with the UN Resident-Coordinator in Azerbaijan Bruno Pouezat.
Noting the importance of the projects being implemented in the framework of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Nations, the Minister updated on the legal reforms conducted in the country to strengthen justice bodies and judicial system, including forming appeal courts in regions, transparency in election of charges.
Mr. Bruno Pouezat said he supports the reforms in the country. He especially noted international importance of Azerbaijan as it quickly developS and intensively integrates to the world countries. Mr. Pouezat made some suggestions on reforms and expressed satisfaction with the legal-judicial reforms.
In meeting, also were discussed ways of deepening of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Nations, ensuring human rights and freedoms, training of judges, etc.
