AZERBAIJANI JUSTICE MINISTER MEETS PRESIDENT OF EUROPEAN COURT OF HUMAN RIGHTS
Fikrat Mammadov, Minister of Justice of Azerbaijan met Friday with Jean-Paul Costa, President of the European Court of Human Rights, the Ministry  said. The Azerbaijani Minister spoke of measures to improve the activity of courts in Azerbaijan, to ensure impartiality of judges and develop legal institutions.
The Minister stressed the importance of inviting European judges to and organizing trainings in Azerbaijan to study and apply the European Court of Human Rights` decisional law in the country.
Jean-Paul Costa, for his part, said Azerbaijan gained considerable achievements in bringing its judicial system into line with European standards.
 He expressed his satisfaction with Azerbaijani judges` studying and applying case law of the European Court.
Afterwards, he familiarized himself, in the Justice Museum, with the development history of Azerbaijan`s judicial and justice bodies.
