On December 15, the Ministry of Justice held a board meeting in the format of a video conference. Mr. Fikrat Mammadov, the Minister of Justice congratulated the staff on the glorious victory of our people in the Patriotic War under the leadership of the President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev. He stressed that the head of state honorably fulfilled the most important will of the great leader Heydar Aliyev, liberating our lands from occupation by defeating Armenia on the battlefield and in the political arena.
He said that, thanks to the military-political success of our country, the heroism of our victorious army, at the cost of the blood and lives of our martyrs, our people have been reunited with their native lands, which they have longed for 30 years and our territorial integrity was restored. In this regard, the Victory Parade with the participation of the head of state and the President Rejep Tayyip Erdogan once again demonstrated to the world the military and economic strength of our country, the strength of our army and the determination of our people to win, as well as the inviolability of the Azerbaijani-Turkish brotherhood.
Demonstration of more than 3,000 personnel, about 150 modern military equipment, missile and artillery installations, air defence systems, as well as military booty seized by the Azerbaijani Army during the Patriotic War was met with great interest and pride.
The Minister noted that during this glorious period, the international community was fully informed about the aggressive policy and the war crimes committed by Armenia through the will and diplomatic ability of the head of state and the First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva's patriotic calls for the just struggle of our people, and the enemy's false propaganda was fully exposed.
It was stated that, the war ended, and great structural works had begun to restore our liberated lands under the leadership of the President, as well as construction of roads to Shusha and other liberated territories is realized, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has commenced a project to restore religious monuments and mosques at the initiative of the First Vice President. It was noted that the visit of Mr. President and the First Lady to our liberated lands was a celebration of the return of our people to their ancestral lands.
It was also noted that the return of captives and hostages, including Shahbaz Guliyev and Dilgam Asgarov held for a long time under the Armenian hostage, is another success of our country, which remains committed to international humanitarian law and the principles of humanism.
It was note in the board meeting that, the activities of the Ministry of Justice in the Patriotic War, voluntary selfless service of employees in battles, providing material, moral and medical support to our army, wounded and martyrs' families, information of foreign countries and influential international organizations about Armenian aggression, war and crimes against humanity by sending about 400 appeals, establishment of the trilingual electronic information platform "Karabakh is Azerbaijan!", which is constantly updated and interactive, used by thousands of users, has great importance in promoting and disseminating the fair position of our country.
The works done by the ministry within the Coordination Headquarters established by the Presidential Decree dated 24.11.2020 on centralized solution of issues in the liberated areas, as well as measures on organization of the activities of the newly established Karabakh Regional Department of Justice were brought to attention.
Discussing the tasks facing the judiciary in the post-conflict period, commissions were made on establishment of activities in coordination with the Coordination Headquarters, expansion of activities related to commandants in charge of temporary special administration, analysis of war and crimes against humanity, definition of legal responsibility measures, involvement of local and foreign NGOs in these works.
Also, the tasks of the ministry and other specific measures were identified to clarify the damage caused to our territories, including the justice and the judicial authorities as a result of the occupation, to restore their activities, and to establish relevant courts.
Registration issues were considered at the meeting. The Ministry studied the compliance of the constituent documents of the future Azerbaijan Party with the legislation and decided to register the party, as well as a number of non-profit legal entities.
